Materials/Warehouse Manager The Materials/Warehouse Manager is responsible for the receipt, inventory management and line distribution of all production materials, fabrications and components.
This Manager will work in coordination with sourcing, supply chain and inbound transportation management, production planning and scheduling.
In addition, this position is accountable for the on-site materials department indirect labor productivity.
Job Responsibilities include:
Perform as the primary point of responsibility for materials management for the site.
Ensure optimization of all materials management activities including scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, materials movement, supplier performance measurement, and indirect materials management.
Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of materials functions and goals and objectives.
Manage the accuracy and maintenance of all materials documentation, physical inventory, storage locations and inventory reconciliation.
Participate with the plant team to manage the production schedule and review materials for shortages or vendor performance issues that may alter the schedule.
Work directly with operations to ensure on-time delivery of all materials to the production line.
Work directly with Purchasing and Buyers to ensure timely delivery of product for production support.
Provide assistance, training and necessary certification within the Material's Team.
Promote a safety-first workplace.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Materials Define and refine processes for continual improvement of communications, accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements include:
Minimum of Associates Degree required.
Prefer in Business Management or Supply Chain Management.
3-5 years' experience in Materials Management and production planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
At least 2 years of management experience.
Effective interpersonal, communications, coaching, mentoring and leadership skills.
Possess and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
Capable of coordinating the functions within the materials department while displaying a sound understanding of the overall manufacturing process.
Previous experience using manufacturing software programs including barcoding, setting up locations etc.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good conflict management abilities.
